Curious statue in Anacapri

I am still trying to find details for this. Clearly George of Picasaweb has no idea either. But looking at the image timestamps (thank goodness for digital photography!) it is no more than four minutes walk from the Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo (Church of Archangel Michael)
