| When the Players of St Peter were based at St Peter upon Cornhill they stored all their stuff: costumes, props, staging, lights, etc. in a side aisle of the church. When they moved to Holy Trinity, Sloane Street they stored their stuff in the gallery. Strangely, this gallery had no rail or parapet so it was quite unsafe for any other use. When they moved to St Clement Eastcheap (note that this Wikipedia article has been heavily edited by our organist Andrew Pink), there was no room available for storage so they stored their stuff in the basement of The Institute, a building opposite and associated with the church of St Paul's, Shadwell (and this Wikipedia article uses this picture).
In 2007 they had to move their stuff again, this time to the basement of Toynbee Hall in Commercial Street, Whitechapel. Most of these pics are by Roger W Haworth but the last few with filenames of 07b3_? are by Judith Elbourne. Images of later years are in their own gallery. |
